Introduction
The International English Language Testing System is known as IELTS. An examination for non-native English speakers is being offered. Structure of the Exam
The IELTS exam has 4 sections:
- Listening
The listening test lasts for approximately 40 minutes, of which 30 minutes are spent listening to a tape and answering questions based on what you hear, and 10 minutes are spent entering your answers on the answer sheet (if you are taking the paper-based test). In an IELTS administered using a computer, you will have two minutes to review the answers you already typed in the blanks.
2. Reading
You must read passages of material and respond to questions based on what you have read during the hour-long reading test. You might need to do a variety of tasks.
3. Writing
The Writing test is similarly an hour long and is broken into two parts: a letter or report writing portion and an essay writing portion.
4. Speaking
The ielts speaking examination can last up to 15 minutes and is divided into three sections: an interview in which the examiner asks you questions about yourself, a cue card talk in which you speak alone, and a two-way discussion with the examiner.
Only before the Speaking test do you get a break from the Listening, Reading, and Writing tests. The Speaking test may occasionally even be given on a different day.
IELTS Score
